Hello, I am Carlos
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Madrid, Spain.
Several years ago, I relocated here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Spain wasn’t in the plan for the long run. Like many international assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning through doing. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Orvan Tisel
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Practical experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site is not:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Spain continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please get in touch.
Warm regards,
Carlos
